About
This online course, Fundamental Knowledge for Restorative Justice Facilitators, partly fulfills the minimum standards for reputable trainers to be seen as credible by Court Justice Services. The other parts of the minimum standards would be a knowledge of Restorative Justice philosophy, principles, aboriginal components, and practice guidelines, as well as training in a specific restorative justice process. These modules are presented as an introduction to the topic. There are references at the end of each module for beginning practitioners to access in order to increase their knowledge on the topic. There are also courses offered in each topic at many post-secondary institutions in Alberta and online. As with any profession, the expectation is that learning will continue throughout one’s professional life. PRESENTERS FOR EACH MODULE Each module presenter has knowledge and experience in the topic that they are presenting. The presenters have been chosen from a Request for Proposal process or were recommended by practicing Restorative Justice facilitators. Each presenter introduces themselves at the beginning of the module and lists the pertinent parts of their resume. If you have any concerns or questions about a topic please contact the presenter at the information they provided in the module. Enjoy the course and if you are on the journey of becoming a Restorative Justice facilitator, we wish you well. Alberta Restorative Justice Association (ARJA)
